Lessons learned from working on Gourds

1. Really dry gourds catch fire pretty easily when they are being    wood burned.
2. Trying to put out said small fire with my fingers is a bad idea.
3. Putting a burned finger in my mouth doesn't help either the finger or the fire.
4. Felt doesn't work all that well at smothering small fires.
5. Spit will put out the aforementioned small fire, but it takes a lot of it.
6. Gourds that have had small fires and spit on them are gross and must be
    discarded.  Ew.
